On this page we offer maldives diving liveaboard outside the Maldives. Although a liveboard Maldives is a fantastic experience, there are alternatives. Best of course is diving away from the mainstream dive locations but this has a risk. Support in the form of coastguards, compressor companies and companies that sell supplies and ship parts are mostly none existent so liveaboards that operate here have to be self reliant and this comes with a price. The have to keep spare parts and mechanics at hand and this is expensive. And we are not even talking about the absence of a decompression facility. You never hope you need one but if you do need one you want it close and not 12 hours or more out. The better (safer) option is stick with the mainstream dive locations but then find a time or way to avoid the crowd. One way to do so is to do a 10 day or 14 day Maldives diving liveaboard instead of a 7 day liveaboard Maldives like 90% of all the Maldives diving liveaboards do. Most maldives diving liveaboard sail from weekend to weekend and move together to the best divesites. If you do a 10 day or 14 day liveaboard you sail out of sync with the other liveaboards and hence you have most divesites for yourself. If you still want to do some exploration diving you will find info about that on this page. We can offer you Fiji, Indonesia, Galapagos and more exclusive dive locations, some expensive and exclusive, some cheap but very basic. We have something for everybody. Note that some locations are difficult and expensive to reach. Some liveaboards in Indonesia take 36 hours to get there from Europe and the tickets are expensive. As you want to start diving rested you also want to take a couple of days to acclimatize.
