Hulhumalé (Dhivehi: ހުޅުމާލެ) is a reclaimed island located in the south of the North Male Atoll. The artificial island was reclaimed to establish a new land mass required to meet the existing and future housing, industrial and commercial development demands of the Male region. The official settlement was inaugurated by President Gayoom on May 12, 2004.

The development and management of the island is undertaken by a Government owned corporation called Housing Development Corporation (formerly Hulhumalé Development Unit /Hulhumalé Development C-operation) which was incorporated on March 23, 2005.

Located on Hulhumale, the newly developed island next to the capital Male and close to the airport. The Hulhumale Beach hotel is on the Beach front with the longest and most beautiful white beach around Male. Attached to a nice housereef and a lagoon excellent for watersports.

Our hotel close to Male and ideal to stay one or two nights before your flight leaves or if you have to wait for a connecting flight to one of the islands or if you just want to visit Male. We offer free wifi and have an airport pickup and return service. We can also drop you off at the lagune where all liveaboards anchor before they start their safaris.

Ferries go to Male every 30 minutes until very late. Ofcourse our rooms are provided with airconditioning, hot and cold water and television.

We have a contract with a local diving school and as of immediately we offer diving in and around the North and South Male Atolls. The rate for diving is $35,- for a dive. The dive school is just 10 meters away from our hotel. If you are waiting for your safari boat to leave the next day but you just can't wait to get in the water this is an affordable way to get a dive in.

The dive school is PADI certified and makes use of experienced staff and guides. Famous dive sites they visit are Lankan Finolhu (a fantastic mantapoint in the west monsoon from May until November), Banana reef, the Maldive Victory wreck, Back Faru, Nassimo Thila, HP Reef and many many more.
